Arts & Culture

Buffalo New York is well known for its architectural and historical heritage, its cultural vitality, and its professional sports teams. Take advantage of our art galleries, history and science museums, zoo and a botanical garden, theaters, jazz clubs, music groups, philharmonic orchestra, and professional football, hockey, and baseball teams. Plus, the Artpark, Chautauqua, and Niagara-on-the-Lake festivals combine with other special events to enrich Western New York’s cultural and intellectual life.

Scores of great restaurants cater to, ethnic, gourmet, health food, and nouvelle cuisine as well as down-home American and fast food tastes. Indulge and enjoy!

For those who love the outdoors, the Lake Erie and Lake Ontario beaches provide swimming and boating right in our backyard! Cross-country ski trails are everywhere in suburban Buffalo, and downhill ski slopes are only an hour’s drive away. The Genesee River Gorge, the Finger Lakes, and the Southern Tier woods and waterways also offer nearby outdoor recreation year-round. Adventure of another kind can always be found at the Darien Lake and Niagara Falls theme parks.

In Daemen, I took ESL classes to improve my English. I worked at Canavan Desk and made a lot of friends over there. I participated in a Business dinner with my professors. I was invited to join a family party by my professors. During the weekends, I often take the school shuttle to the shopping mall. These experiences helped me to ease into the American-style of study, life, and business.
