St. Francis Xavier University
St. Francis Xavier University is a liberal arts institution located in Antigonish, a northeastern Nova Scotia seaside town with a population of 6,000. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and has its own unique charm. Trout rivers, the best of salmon fishing, a ski hill and a variety of beaches and oceanfront vistas, are only a few of the many attractions to be found a short distance from campus.
Two thirds of the student body is from Nova Scotia, and the remainder is welcomed from other Canadian provinces and from countries around the world. There are 3500 full-time students at 600 part-time students enrolled at the University.
For the past 20 years, StFX has maintained its rank among top Canadian undergraduate universities in regards to research grants awarded to science faculty by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).
