Centers & Initiatives
One of the things that make a college great is the wealth of opportunities for learning and service to others, outside the traditional confines of the institution’s core mission. Here at Daemen College, we’re pleased to tell you that we have a wonderful complement of Centers and Initiatives that reach out far beyond the campus and its classrooms. Each is designed to help others while at the same time enrich and empower those who participate in such acts of kindness and caring.
Included within this arena are the Center for Special Education After School program; Center for Sustainable Communities & Civic Engagement; Consortium for North American Sustainability; SILK Homes Program; and Teacher Leadership Quality Partnership.
Whether it’s helping young students at risk for academic failure; promoting the quality of life in a community; providing college students with experiential learning opportunities in Civil Society and Sustainable Communities; or lending expertise to improve the health and welfare of the world’s most vulnerable people – Daemen College’s Centers & Initiatives are purpose-driven, results-oriented, and a shining example of what a great college can do, and does do, every day. It all speaks to the core belief that the well-rounded Daemen College graduate is one who’s had some hands-on experience in sharing his or her expertise – and heart – with the world around us.
That’s the best way to really get a feel for what Daemen is all about! Daemen is located in suburban Amherst, New York just minutes away from the city of Buffalo. To schedule a weekday individual interview and tour the campus, email us firstname.lastname@example.org or call 800.462.7652.
