The PLSA is a club for prospective law school applicants and students who are generally interested in law and legal careers. Membership is open to students from all majors. The PLSA's signature event is the annual Moot Court Experience at Daemen College's Academic Festival. The club also sponsors and co-sponsors other on-campus events and activities. History & Government Club
The History & Government Club is open to all students with an interest in history or political science. In the recent past, the club has planned and sponsored events on campus and has traveled to historic sites in the greater Buffalo area and beyond. Club officers are elected each fall.
Meetings for both clubs are held once per month during the academic year and all interested students (from any major) are welcome to join. If you are interested in joining either (or both) of these clubs, contact the officers or faculty advisors listed above.
Moot Court Experience
The PLSA's signature event is the Moot Court Experience, a simulated trial of a criminal or civil law case that is presented at Daemen's Academic Festival in April. The first Moot Court Experience was held in 2002, and since that point Moot Court has been a featured presentation for Academic Festival. Moot Court is open to all majors, and presents students with the opportunity to hone analytical and speaking skills as they develop arguments to present in the case and to have a great time in the process! Students do all the work of developing court statements and preparing and portraying lawyers and witnesses.
