Sharlene Buska

Associate Professor of Business Administration; B.S., M.B.A., University at Buffalo. DPhil, Oxford Graduate School.

Professor Buszka earned both her graduate and undergraduate degrees at The State University of New York at Buffalo, and her doctorate from Oxford Graduate School in Dayton, Tennessee. Her dissertation was entitled “Factors Affecting the Integration of Faith and Spirituality in the Workplace.”

Professor Buszka maintains SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) certification, is a member of SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) and BNHRA (Buffalo Niagara Human Resource Association). She is also the faculty advisor for the Daemen student SHRM Chapter.

Besides teaching Human Resource related courses, Professor Buszka teaches Diversity and Cross-Cultural Management, Introduction to Business Administration, and a service learning course entitled “Workforce Development through ESL Instruction.” This service learning experience develops Daemen students’ cross-cultural communication skills through their tutoring relationships with local refugees. The course also ties in with her current research in the area of employer attitudes about refugees as employees.
