What is the Thomas Reynolds Center Program?

The Thomas Reynolds Center is a Graduate Assistantship for students enrolled in Daemen’s Masters in Special Education program. Graduate Students are hired as Graduate Assistants and work part time, receiving an hourly wage, at the Thomas Reynolds Center while completing course requirements to receive a Masters in Special Education degree. Graduate Assistants receive hands-on teaching experience in an after-school setting working with students with learning disabilities in grades 3rd and 4th. Graduate Assistants receive direct instruction from Master Teachers in the areas of reading, writing, mathematics, and diverse learners.

When does the after-school program take place?

The after-school program for the 2014-2015 school year begins on Monday, October 20, 2014 and ends on Thursday, April 23, 2015.  Students from the Amherst Central School District receive academic services at the Thomas Reynolds Center for Special Education building located on Daemen’s campus Mondays through Thursdays.
