Estimated Family Contribution
What is an EFC?
EFC stands for Expected Family Contribution. Your Expected Family Contribution calculates your family's ability to pay for college. It does not tell you the amount that your family will be paying for college nor does it tell you the amount of financial aid you will receive.
Why do I need an EFC?
The EFC is used by schools to determine your eligibility for federal student aid. This is deteremined by a need analysis formula.
How do I estimate my EFC?
You can use FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) on the Web to calculate your estimated EFC. The estimated EFC will print on the confirmation page after you submit the application. Your official EFC will also be on your Student Aid Report (SAR).
The core comprises required courses for all students, regardless of major, and it is designed to strengthen the student's abilities to become intellectually curious, to acquire professional rewards, to become responsible citizens and to deal with change and uncertainty.
