When do I arrive?
Students are expected to arrive at Daemen one week prior to the start of classes.
Please send a copy of your travel itinerary to the International Admissions Office.
What if I arrive early?
Students who arrive earlier than one week before the start of classes will be responsible for securing a hotel room nearby.
Where do I arrive?
Buffalo International Airport serves most major cities in the United States.
Daemen is a 10 minute drive from the Buffalo airport.
How do I get to Daemen from the airport?
The Global Programs Office will meet you at the airport and provide shuttle service to Daemen College. The shuttle service is free for all students. Please contact our office with your arrival time. (firstname.lastname@example.org)
If students arrive late at night or on a holiday, taxi service is available to Daemen from the airport for approximately $30.00. Please contact our office with your arrival time so someone can meet you on campus if shuttle service is not available.
Where will I live on campus?
Our residence life office offers housing to both undergraduate and graduate students. Our undergraduate freshmen students are housed in Canavan Hall, a traditional, suite-style residence. Our undergraduate transfer and graduate students are housed in the Campus Village Apartments which are apartment-style residence halls.
What do I bring?
Residence Life has a suggested list of items to bring to campus. As an international student we advise that you travel as light as possible and purchase necessary items upon arrival.
If living on campus, the Global Programs Office will provide you with a pillow, blanket, sheets, and some other essential items to use until you are settled and able to go shopping. The Global Programs Office provides weekly shuttle service to local grocery stores
Does Daemen provide housing for families?
No. Daemen does not offer housing for families or dependents. If you are planning on bringing dependents you can find more information here.
What if I am living off campus?
There are a number of apartment complexes and rental properties available in the area. You can search online for apartments near Daemen’s campus at http://subboard.com/och/
When is international orientation and is it required?
Fall 2013 international orientation takes place on August 28th through September 3rd. All International Students are required to attend.
Can I arrive at Daemen after the start of classes?
No. If a prolonged visa process inhibits your ability to arrive before the start of classes you must defer to the following semester. The first days of the semester are very important for all international students. Please contact the International Admissions Office is you are not able to arrive before the start of classes.
Do I pay my bill when I arrive?
During international orientation, students will meet with Sylvia Muhr from Student Accounts. Sylvia will help students to set up a payment plan and determine the total cost to the students. What if my health form is not complete?
You cannot live on campus at Daemen or begin classes until your health form is complete. If you have questions about the health form or your health compliance please contact Sue Girard at email@example.com
