Academic Requirements

Daemen relies on high school GPA, transcripts including grade performance and rigor of courses selected, extracurricular activities, class rank, a writing sample and counselor or teacher recommendations when making admissions decisions.

Step 1

Submit a Daemen College on-line application

Step 2

Undergraduate freshman:  Submit all official secondary (high school) transcripts.  Official transcripts must be sent directly from the student's school. 

Undergraduate transfers and Graduate students: Submit all official secondary (high school) transcripts and post-secondary (college/university) transcripts.

Step 3

Submit SAT scores or apply test optional.  Daemen College has a test optional policy which means the applicant has the choice to submit SAT scores.  Applicants who choose test optional are required to submit; a personal essay, two letters of recommendation, and a resume highlighting:

  • Leadership skills
  • Extracurricular activities
  • Community service
  • Global experience

Step 4

Proof of Financial Support must be submitted.  All students must show financial ability to fund the entire cost of the academic program and living expenses in order to be eligible for the form I-20.

Scholarships and Tuition

Academic scholarships are offered to international students who are accepted into Daemen College.  Please note the tuition and fees for the 2012-2013 academic year.

Do I need to apply for a student visa?

Canadian citizens are not required to receive a student visa in advance however, they do need to follow the immigration requirements to enter the U.S. as an F-1 student.

What is an I-20 and how do I receive it?

The Global Programs Office (GPO) issues the form I-20 for international students.  Once a student is accepted and shows full financial support along with completing the Daemen Proof of Financial Support Form GPO will issue the I-20.

He majored in International Business and had an internship at Liberty Pumps, which actually turned into a job.  David has applied his knowledge and skills at national and international trips with the company.  “The internship is the main reason I got the job,” David states. “I had an opportunity to get to know the company and become familiar with what they do.
