What was your VISA process like?

In my VISA process, I was confident to express my ideas and answer the questions of the VISA officer. During the interview I had everything prepared which included my financial statement, high school and college/university transcripts, and acceptance letter.

What was Daemen College’s orientation like?  What was involved during orientation?  How did it help?

The orientation gave me an opportunity to understand Daemen, the community and the city of Buffalo. We went to the worldwide-famous Niagara Falls, downtown, a shopping mall, all kind of restaurants and supermarkets, etc. Through the orientation, I knew more information about Daemen College. It reassured me about my choice to study at Daemen and live in the U.S.

Did you enroll in ESL courses?  If so, what types of ESL courses did you take?  How did they help with your education?

Yes, I did. I took writing and oral courses. These courses were in accordance with my weakness in English. In class, I was asked to present my ideas to the teacher and students. The ESL courses improved my English level and enabled me to speak English with confidence.

Personally, I like the safe environment, nice people and great studying atmosphere.

What is your favorite thing about Buffalo, NY?

I like Niagara Falls. That’s great!

What has your experience at Daemen College been like?

In Daemen, I took ESL classes to improve my English. I worked at Canavan Desk and made a lot of friends over there. I participated in a Business dinner with my professors. I was invited to join a family party by my professors. During the weekends, I often take the school shuttle to the shopping mall. These experiences help me to ease into the American-style of study, life, and business.

Any advice to prospective students?

At Daemen, you need to talk a lot in class. You need to understand the information rather than writing them down. Therefore, you should be confident to talk and obtain any opportunities to communicate with your professors, classmates and friends.

Anyway, don’t be worry. Don’t be discouraged. Everything will be fine step by step.
