Mission Statement

In order to support veteran and veteran family members’ succeed in post secondary education, Daemen has established the Veteran Affairs Center. As a Military Friendly College, the Daemen’s Veterans Center strives to coordinate its services in order to help each and every veteran student – as no student is the same.

Military Friendly School

For the sixth year in a row Daemen College has been named a Military Friendly School by GI Jobs Magazine and Victory Media. This recognition comes after a survey of over 10,000 VA-approved schools nationwide and takes into account numerous factors important to veteran students, including military support on campus, academic credibility, and academic credit for military service.

Yellow Ribbon College Program

Daemen College is a part of the Yellow Ribbon College Program. Incoming Daemen students may be eligible for lower tuition rates and other undergraduate fees under this Post -9/11 Bill. Daemen Veterans Breakfast & Flag Installation Ceremony

Daemen Veterans Breakfast & Flag Installation Ceremony

On November 11th, 2014 Daemen College hosted a continental breakfast to honor all of those who have served our country. Almost 20 veterans were recognized at an appreciation breakfast hosted by the college’s Center for Veterans and Veteran Family Services. In keeping with the military coin giving tradition as an expression of thanks to current and past service members, veterans at the event were each presented a specially created Daemen coin bearing the college’s logo. Among those attending the breakfast were Daemen President Gary A. Olson, State Senator Michael Ranzenhofer and State Assemblyman Raymond Walter.

At an afternoon flag installation ceremony, dozens of students from several campus organizations and clubs placed small flags along the front walkway. Congressman Brian Higgins, a strong advocate for veterans affairs, joined the Daemen community for the flag installation ceremony.
