50 Things to do Before You Graduate

Welcome to The DC Book!

Every school has traditions that make it unique. For Daemen College’s 50th anniversary in 1997, a list of traditions was created to give students a sense of milestones they could achieve while at the college. The DC Book is taking that idea one step further. In 2010, the Student Alumni Ambassadors created the DC Book as a way to get our fellow students more involved both on campus and in the community.

The Book consists of 50 traditions associated with both Daemen College and Western New York. The traditions range from the seemingly obvious (#29: Get a cup of coffee on campus) to the slightly more involved (#36: Study abroad). Each student will experience Daemen differently, but these 50 traditions are one way we can experience Daemen together. The DC Book is a way for Daemen students to document our college memories and to be rewarded in the process. The more traditions you complete, the more cool stuff you earn!

 

But how does it work?

The DC Book is tracked by the photos you take. Each time you accomplish a tradition, document your moment! Take pictures doing each of the traditions you complete on the list and submit them electronically by clicking the link on the Daemen website. The Student Alumni Ambassadors will also be available at certain points during the semester to check DC Books in person. SAA will keep track of the traditions you complete and reward you with a prize for every ten traditions you complete.

After completing 10 traditions, you will receive a Tradition Keeper car decal
After completing 20 you will receive a Tradition Kepper t-shirt
After completing 30 you will receive a Tradition Keeper waterbottle
After completing 40 you will you receive a medal during graduation week recognizing you as a Daemen College Tradition Keeper.

If you complete all 50 traditions, you will have your name immortalized on the Tradition Keeper website.

The more you get involved, the better your chances are of achieving Tradition Keeper status! Whether you complete 1 tradition or all 50, the DC Book is your personal memento to keep. He majored in International Business and had an internship at Liberty Pumps, which actually turned into a job.  David has applied his knowledge and skills at national and international trips with the company.  “The internship is the main reason I got the job,” David states. “I had an opportunity to get to know the company and become familiar with what they do. I am very glad I was afforded the chance to join this company through the internship.”
