Center for Wound Healing Research

The Daemen College Center for Wound Healing Research has procured over $3.8 million in funding from industry, private foundations, and the federal government to support research.

The research team includes scientists and researchers from Daemen (Dr. Michael Brogan, Dr. Laura Edsberg, and Dr. Kristin Fries); SUNY at Buffalo and Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Also part of the research team are area physicians and surgeons.

The following are among the entities that have awarded funding to the Daemen College Center for Wound Healing Research:

  • United States Department of Defense, Army Medical Research & Materiel Command (USAMRMC)
  • Advanced Oxygen Therapy (AOTI), Ltd.
  • Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation (University of Western Ontario, Lead)
  • National Institutes of Health (Winston-Salem State University, Lead)

David was an international student from Caracas, Venezuela. He majored in International Business and had an internship at Liberty Pumps, which actually turned into a job.  David has applied his knowledge and skills at national and international trips with the company.  “The internship is the main reason I got the job,” David states. “I had an opportunity to get to know the company and become familiar with what they do. I am very glad I was afforded the chance to join this company through the internship.”
