Cummings Foundation to provide equipment for the Clinic.  Daemen College successfully raised over $200,000 in matching funds for the clinic, receiving generous donations from private donors and in-kind contributions of supplies from corporations.

Daemen is nationally and internationally known for its expertise in wound care research, education, and practice.  Daemen College and our collaborative partners have envisioned, and worked toward, establishing a physical therapy-based wound care clinic.

On September 10, 2012,  Daemen College opened the first Physical Therapy Wound Care Center in New York State administered by a college or university.  This clinic, located in Cheektowaga at the Center for Skin Integrity, serves individuals in Western New York who are suffering from chronic wounds. The Daemen College Physical Therapy Wound Care Clinic and accompanying clinical education will further elevate Western New York as a national leader with respect to collaborative, physical therapy-based interdisciplinary wound care research, education, and practice.
