Tonawanda Engine Plant Manager, Steve Finch will discuss achieving your dreams.  Mr. Finch manages the 3.1 million square-foot Tonawanda Engine plant and oversees its 1,774 employees.  He is Chairman of the board for United Way of Buffalo and Erie County and a board member of the AAA of Western New York and the Buffalo Urban League.

What should I wear?

Business attire:  neutral colors, polished grooming, remove piercings and cover visible tattoos.

  • Ladies:  Business suite, blouse/skirt (approximate length), closed toe shoes (flats or 1-2" heels).
  • Gentlemen:  Business suite, collared shirt, tie and polished shoes.

  • Research participating employers by visiting their websites prior to the event
  • Prepare a 1-minute pitch
    • Name
    • Current degree program
    • Brief description of relevant experience
    • immediate career goals
  • Prioritize the list of employers you'd like to meet


  • Wear business/interview attire, bring business cards, and copies of your resume
  • Review any available literature while you wait to speak to an employer
  • Introduce yourself, smile, shake hands, and offer your resume
  • After your discussion, ask for a business card to follow up


    Send hand-written follow-up letter to those employers you wish to pursue.
