HD Video Conferencing Equipment

It's here - the next generation in Full HD video communications. Daemen currently has two LifeSize Passports and one LifeSize Room 220.

What does this mean to you?

LifeSize Passports » Are great small portable units that are ideal for Point-to-Point video calls. If you're connecting to only one other site and need just video and audio only. In this case the Passport is your best option.

LifeSize Room 220 » It doesn't get any better than the Room 220. If you're looking to connect with multiple sites and share either documents and or other audio video materials the Room 220 is for you.

Whats required for this to work?

Below is the equipment we have available to use at Daemen:

Passport

  • 1 - HD TV
  • 1 - Ethernet Port for Internet connectivity

Room 220

  • 2 - HD TVs
    • 1st for the current speaker.
    • 2nd for the presentation input or displays up to four other sites.
  • 1 - Ethernet Port for Internet connectivity

What does the far site need in order to connect with us?

The end site you're connecting to needs to be equipped with standards based H.323 video conferencing equipment: preferably LifeSize, Polycom or Tanberg. If they don't have any of these technologies available to them, please let us know and we would be happy to discuss other possible solutions.  Academic Computing will set up a test connection prior to your class or event to ensure compatibility.
