 Wednesday, August 27th

9 am-4 pm

  • Early Orientation Check-In - Bring passport and Form I-20
    • Location: Global Programs Office, Duns Scotus Room 245

Thursday, August 28th

  • 8:30 am
    • Breakfast with faculty advisors
  • 10 am-12:00 pm 
    • Presentations: Career Services, Health & Insurance Services, The Learning Center, Academic Support Services, and Student Account
  • 12:00  
    • Obtain student identification cards
  • 12:30 pm
    • Campus Tour
  • 1:00 pm
    • Lunch & shopping at Wegman's Supermarket (Bring your own money)
      • Founded in 1916 in Rochester, NY, Wegman's has appeared on Fortune's annual "100 Best Companies to Work For" list since its inception in 1998, and has ranked among the top 10 for eight consecutive years.  Food Network recognized it with its award for Best Grocery Store in 2007, and Consumer Reports ranked it the top large grocery chain in the United States in 2009.
    • Set up mobile phone service and bank accounts, as needed.

Friday, August 29th

    • REQUIRED: Immigration Session - Bring Form I-20, passport, and I-94 record.

    • ESL testing
      • This is a mandatory requirement of all international students regardless of IELTS or TOEFL score.
  • 12:30 pm
    • Lunch and Buffalo Tour
      • Buffalo may conjure up images of snowy city streets, but those of us who love this city know better. In addition to a four-season climate and a host of natural resources, Buffalo boasts prominent architecture, world class art and renowned theatre.

Saturday, August 30th

  • 9:30 am
    • Breakfast
  • 10 am - 4 pm
    • Niagara Falls
      • Sightseers travel from all over the world to one of the most dramatic natural wonders - Niagara Falls. You'll stand in awe as millions of gallons of water surge 300 feet over the falls in a roar of thrilling thunder and splash up in a magnificent mist.
      • Ride the Maid of the Mist boat along the lower Niagara River right to the foot of the magnificent waterfalls.
      • Take the Cave of the Winds walking tour, where you are guided onto a series of wooden decks to the base of the Bridal Veil Falls brings you as close as two feet to the water.
  • 5pm
    • Residence Hall meetings (required for any students living in campus housing)

Sunday, August 31st

**Global Programs Office open from 10 am-12 pm if students need assistance**

    • Presentations: Career Services, Health & Insurance Services, The Learning Center, Academic Support Services, and Student Accounts, L.E.A.D.S.
    • F-1 Immigration Regulations Review
      • Bring Form I-20, I-94 card, and passport.
  • 12 pm - 1 pm
    • Lunch with academic advisors
  • 2 pm - 5:30 pm
    • ESL testing
      • This is a mandatory requirement of all international students regardless of IELTS or TOEFL score. 

Saturday, January 18th

  • 10 am - 12 pm
    • Workshops
      • Culture Shock
      • Getting Around Buffalo
  • 12 pm - 3 pm
    • Lunch & Shopping - Super Walmart, Wegmans Supermarket, and establish mobile phone service

  • 9 am
    • Check-in at Wick Student Center
  • 9:30 am
    • Welcoming
  • 10 am
    • "Making the Rounds"
      • The orientation leaders will take you to visit the various student services and administrative offices on campus. This will give you an opportunity to meet the staff and learn how their offices play a role in your success at Daemen. During the tour you will also set up your computer accounts and receive your Daemen ID.
  • 12:15 pm
    • Complimentary (free) lunch
  • 12:45 pm
    • Student IDs (if needed).
