  • Preview previous tests when available.
  • Practice sample test questions and time yourself.
  • Speak to your professors about their test style and the type of questions that will appear on tests.
  • In true-false tests, if any statement is false, then that's not your choice.
  • Absolute terms such as "always" or "never" usually indicate a false statement.
  • Arrive to class early and select the seat you want.
  • Read directions carefully.
  • Upon receiving a test, write key words and formulas down on scrap paper or on the test sheet.
  • Use a brief outline for essay answers.
  • Answer easy questions first. This will build your confidence and foster recall on other questions.
  • Leave space between answers in case you want to add information later.
    Check your answers if time permits.
