Room Selection Process

Room Selection Process for Current Students 2015-2016

Room selection is an exciting time as Daemen's upperclassmen students are able to select where they would like to live, and with whom. The process begins when students submit their $100 deposit to the Student Accounts office by March 18. Students will receive lottery numbers, and finally pick with whom they would like to live with. The process concludes on April 1 with on campus room selection. Collegiate Village residents will submit their applications, due March 25 and hear about their specific assignments in early August. If you are choosing to live at Collegiate Village you will submit your application to the Housing and Residence Life in Wick. You will not need to attend on campus Room Selection.

In order to pick an apartment, you MUST have a full apartment of the same gender (4 individuals). Groups of less than 4 will not be allowed to pick an apartment.

If you do not have a full apartment, you should attend the Roommate Mixer to be held on February 25 at 7 p.m. in Wick 113-115.

In order to be eligible to participate in room selection, students must be free of any financial or disciplinary holds by the date of Room Selection. Students must have submitted their $100 deposit to Student Accounts.

Collegiate Village Apartments:

If you are applying to live at Collegiate Village, you must submit your Application by March 25 in order to receive full consideration. You will be notified by August 1 of your placement at Collegiate Village. Please note that while we will do everything to accommodate your first choice of apartment, you may not receive your first choice due to availability at Collegiate Village.

Lottery Numbers:

Lottery numbers are randomly generated by a computer program according to the anticipated graduation year (not class/credit standing). Numbers will be e-mailed to each student’s Daemen’s email account on March 20. If you do not receive a lottery number, but paid your deposit by March 18, please come to the Housing and Residence Life Office.

If applying to the Campus Village Apartments, roommates may select one person to choose an apartment on their behalf. When doing so, each student must write a proxy note.

Special Housing Accommodations:

If you believe you qualify for Special Housing Accommodations, you and your doctor must complete the Special Accommodations form found on the Housing and Residence Life website and submit it to the Housing and Residence Life office by March 6 at 4 p.m.

Individuals will be notified of their status by March 13.

Special Housing and Meal Plan Exemption Form

Meal Plans:

All residents who reside on campus proper (i.e. Canavan and Campus Apartments) will be required to purchase a meal plan, with varying options based on location. Students who reside at Collegiate Village through Daemen will be encouraged to purchase a meal plan also, but will be part of the official requirements beginning with the Fall 2016 semester. More information about specific meal plan options and their costs will be forthcoming in March.
