Welcome to the Daemen Campus Rescue Squad (DCRS)

We are a student-run, volunteer organization based at Daemen University that provides emergency medical services to the Daemen University campus community. The Daemen Campus Rescue Squad provides emergency medical care to students, faculty, staff, and visitors of Daemen University at the Basic Life Support level. We operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week during the spring and fall semesters. Our crews are led by a New York state certified Emergency Medical Technician. The crew chief is responsible for all primary patient care and oversees attendant members trained in necessary emergency management skills.

DCRS integrated into a larger system comprised of the Daemen University Campus Safety, Twin City Ambulance, Snyder Fire & Rescue and the Amherst Police Department; all dedicated to providing the best available care to every member of the campus community.

Purpose

The purpose of DCRS is to provide efficient and professional emergency medical care to the students, faculty, staff, and visitors of Daemen University. DCRS is a Basic Life Support First Response Agency (BLS-FR). As members of DCRS, we seek to serve each member of the Daemen University Community, its visitors and guests, by providing timely and professional emergency medical services in response to medical emergencies on campus, in accordance with existing Daemen University emergency response procedures and the Incident Command System (ICS).
