Welcome to Daemen College. Since our founding more than 60 years ago, our goal has been the same: to provide a quality education, with a focus on excellence in teaching and learning. Daemen’s small classes, offering a 13:1 student-faculty ratio, ensure individualized attention to each of our students from our outstanding faculty. Working closely with students both inside and outside of the classroom, many Daemen instructors are also practitioners in their field, bringing clinical and professional expertise to the classroom. The Student-Faculty Interdisciplinary Research Think Tank supports undergraduate research, and each spring, students have an opportunity to showcase their research, community, or creative work in Daemen’s annual Academic Festival.

In addition, the Daemen Global Programs Office is actively involved in the College curriculum, campus, and programming. We work with a variety of constituents and programs, both on campus and around the world, including assisting incoming international students and faculty with their transition to living and studying in the US.

We also offer cooperative and career internships, and field-placement opportunities, which help students connect with employers in their senior year. Moreover, Daemen is committed to preparing graduates for active leadership in their local and global communities: Through hands-on service learning experiences in the community, Daemen students enhance their academic learning, gain practical skills, and practice civic responsibility. Daemen is a proud member of the Western New York Service Learning Coalition (WNYSLC), and in 2008 was one of only six colleges in New York State to receive the elective Carnegie Community Engagement classification.

I invite you to browse our website. You’ll discover more than 30 undergraduate majors and six graduate courses of study, along with a Core Curriculum that develops essential lifelong skills, such as oral and written communication, and critical thinking. Schedule a visit, and let us show you around Daemen, including the latest addition to the campus – the brand new Research & Information Commons, our state-of-the-art library and information center built with "green" design elements, to leave a smaller environmental footprint.

Our location, in suburban Amherst, New York, offers easy access to the city of Buffalo, with major league sports, world-class restaurants, a vibrant theatre district, and full range of musical and cultural attractions. I hope you will take the opportunity to visit our campus, and experience all that Daemen has to offer.
