News!
Daemen College announces that the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has acknowledged that its B.S in Business Administration with a Specialization in Human Resources Management fully aligns with SHRM’s HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates. Throughout the world, 210 programs in 175 educational institutions have been acknowledged by SHRM as being in alignment with its suggested guides and templates. The HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates were developed by SHRM to define the minimum HR content areas that should be studied by HR students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. They are part of SHRM’s Academic Initiative, created in 2006 and revalidated in 2010, to help the Society define HR education standards taught in university business schools across the nation and help universities develop degree programs that follow these standards.
News from Our Graduates
Just wanted to send a “Hello” from Virginia; hope all is well and everyone is doing well in the Business Department. I wanted to thank you for all that you have done for me and giving me guidance while I attended Daemen. I absolutely love working in the Human Resource department at Maruchan (maruchan.com); every day is a different day but with a consistent repetitive daily routine. I love having a job where I wake up excited to go to work. I wish I could let everyone know how important it is to join clubs/organizations on campus and attend the workshops given by L.E.A.P. My boss mentioned how impressive my resume was. This was all from the help of attending the resume workshop which helped me to tweak a few things here and there. Thank you again for all your help.
Bianca Rodriguez (Class of 2010)
This is Erin Delaney (Class of 2006), one of your former business students at Daemen. You were my professor for all of the Human Resources courses that I took as well as my adviser. I contacted you about a year ago to write a recommendation for my application to law school.
I have meant to write for some time now, but I never imagined just how much work I was getting myself into. I ended up deciding to go to UB Law and am now in my second year of law school. I am so happy with my decision to go back to school and want to thank you again for helping me achieve that. I traveled to Europe this past summer to do a study abroad through another law school and then worked for the City of Buffalo Law Department for the other half of the summer. I am now conditionally interning at Customs and Border Protection, but am awaiting a background check.
