Technology Overview
We are using the Blackboard system as the on-line learning environment for faculty and students of the consortium. This environment permits instructors to post course content, engage in discussions and real-time chat, and allows students to post electronic assignments. Many other features are also available in this robust environment. In the future we will be adding narrated on-line lectures and streaming media.
The Role of Technology
Technology plays an ever-increasing role in our methods of communication and therefore in our education methodology. Equitable access to technology is becoming one of the fundamental necessities for modern societies. Technology can greatly enhance communications in our societies and can lead to greater understanding of people and cultures.
