Center for Sustainable Communities and Civic Engagement

Our Mission

The Center for Sustainable Communities and Civic Engagement at Daemen College (CSCCE) provides education and  resources to the Daemen community, and the community-at-large,about issues of sustainability. The Center partners Daemen  College students and faculty with local under served communities to promote a lifetime commitment to civic responsibility, with a  focus on building assets for generations to come.

The Center for Sustainable Communities has long term collaborations with three diverse communities in Buffalo; Seneca  Babcock, the West Side and the Fruit Belt. These partnerships have provided unique opportunities for Daemen students and  faculty. Our community partners respect the Center for the ongoing commitment to their communities, which opens the doors for  students for innovative projects, assessments and research. The Center is also unique among other colleges in Western New  York, with our focus on environmental, economic and educational work in three specific communities. Information on our  community partnerships, history of the Center and Calendar of Events are available from the links on the left.
