Mission & Goals
The mission of the Division of Arts and Sciences at Daemen College is to prepare students to meet the challenges of professional life and service in the local, national and international communities. Our students will have the skills and understanding to adapt to the rigorous demands of today’s complex world and to find creative and sustainable solutions to the problems that lie ahead.
Our graduates will be able to think critically and to communicate with clarity and sensitivity. They will be comfortable with diversity and will have the ethical foundation necessary to work energetically for justice and human dignity. It is our belief that education finds its true meaning in service to others and our students will have the confidence and abilities to make a meaningful contribution to their chosen field. Moreover, they will have a host of opportunities, as undergraduates, to actually extend helping hands to others – locally, regionally, nationally and even internationally – through a variety of meaningful community service programs.
In addition, our graduates will have in-depth specializations in science, psychology, the visual and performing arts, mathematics, history, political science, philosophy, religion and modern languages and literatures. Inspired by their faculty to reach out to others and to enrich their world, they will respond to all future challenges with confidence, determination and skill.
