Daemen College : Academics & Research : Division of Arts & Sciences : Modern Language : Undergraduate Programs : Bachelor of Arts in Spanish : Suggested Course Sequence
Bachelor of Arts - Spanish
Access the complete curriculum for the BA, Spanish, from the Modern Languages Department section of the Daemen catalogue.
The Spanish program is designed to cultivate fluency in the Spanish language and understanding and appreciation of Spanish/Latino literature and culture. The sequence of course offerings is intentionally flexible and allows students a number of options from which to choose. All Language majors are required to complete an international experience in a country where the major language is the official language. The program culminates in the completion of a Senior project, the topic of which is selected in consultation with ones advisor. The core curriculum and free elective portions of the program enable students to pursue one or more minors in other primary areas of interest.
Sequence of course offerings will be individually designed to provide for Year Abroad Programs and the option for an International Studies minor. Initial teacher certification (7-12) is also an option. A separate curriculum design, outlining teacher certification requirements, is available in the Language Department and the Registrars Office.
Senior Project
Students complete 4 credits: SPA442 Senior Project Research and 443 Senior Project. Students take SPA442 and, in the subsequent semester, take SPA443.
