The Chief Judge of the New York State Court of Appeals, Jonathan Lippman, has asked a special committee to examine the role that appropriately trained and qualified non-lawyer advocates can play in bridging New Yorks justice gap.http://www.nycourts.gov/press/PDFs/PR13_07.pdf. Paralegal programs around the state are watching the activities of the committee to see if there will be an expanded role for those with degrees in Paralegal Studies.
