Painting

The Bachelors of Fine Arts in Painting is for individuals who are interested in a vigorous exploration of studio art culminating in the development of an advanced personal body of painting.  Students in this major take extensive courses in art history, design, drawing, and introductory courses in painting in different media that lay the foundation for the development of a personal body of painting that is conceptually and formally informed.  Painting majors also engage in internships, gallery exhibits, and public works in preparation for finding practical applications for painting beyond the studio.  This major teaches students how to think creatively for themselves and prepares them for a lifelong engagement with the world of art.

Faculty

The Faculty in Painting have exhibited locally, and internationally.  There work factors into major collections, including the Burchfield-Penney Museum, and the Albright-Knox Art Gallery.

Sculpture

The Bachelors of Fine Arts in Scultpure is for individuals who are interested in a vigorous exploration of the plastic arts to create a three-dimensional body of work.  Students in this major take extensive courses in art history, design, drawing, and introductory courses in sculpture to lay foundation for the development of a personal body of work both conceptually and formally informed.  Sculpture majors also engage in internships, gallery exhibits, and public works in preparation for finding practical applications for painting beyond the studio.  This major teaches students how to think creatively for themselves and prepares them for a lifelong engagement with the world of art.
