Michael Anthony
Assistant Professor of Graphic Design
Michael Anthony, Assistant Professor of Graphic Design, teaches classes in graphic design, visual communications and computer graphics at Daemen College.
Since 1985, Michael Anthony has won awards for his creative work in advertising and visual communications. Michael’s areas of expertise include brand development, campaign and concept development, copy writing and graphic design.
Michael has produced work as an independent consultant, as partner in his own design firm, as creative director at several multi-national advertising agencies, as well as in-house creative director for individual technology manufacturers.
His free-lance clients include many national as well as local, business-to-business and business-to-retail accounts. Michael also donates time to several not-for-profit organizations. He is currently a consultant to The Mechanism; a multi-medium design group in New York City.
The range of his work includes; national print campaigns, outdoor advertising, television and radio, product and package design, web and multi media, and brand development.
Professor Anthony earned his MFA degree at Vermont College. His research included historical concepts of the male identity as well as looking at Art Nouveau as a pop-cultural movement, and straight photography; looking at Tina Modotti, Jacob Riis, Dorothea Lang and Walker Evans. Works included; experimental photographic prints on found and manufactured substrates, digital painting and photo collage, synthetic combined with hand-made installations. Michael has shown his work in Vermont and New York State.
Michael has been teaching visual communications at Buffalo State College since 1999, and had lectured at the University of Buffalo.
