Daemen Nursing in the News!
Daemen College has been awarded a grant of $1,425,600.00 from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) to provide support for advanced practice nursing students. This funding – nearly $5 million in new federal dollars that are being made available through the stimulus – is helping to expand the nurse practitioner workforce in Western New York.
The federal funding will provide financial assistance to students enrolled in Daemen’s Adult Nurse Practitioner Master's Degree Program. The federal funds will be used to provide stipends to students ($22,000 per year per student, with a maximum of two years of stipend funding). Additionally, the stipends will support converting students from part-time to full-time and enrolling new full-time students. The project period extends over five years.
For information and application: Contact Dr. Mary Lou Rusin (716) 839-8387.
