Masters of Science Degree in Education - Weekend Masters Program

Due to new State and Federal education requirements, Daemen College has decided not to recruit and/or enroll new students into these program options for the spring 2015 and fall 2014 semesters.

More information regarding the status of these program options will be posted during the fall 2014 semester."

What Makes It Great

  • As a Daemen education major, you will get field experience in actual classrooms starting your freshman year-as opposed to junior year in many other programs-giving you more confidence with students and preparation for your career.
  • Small class sizes help facilitate enhanced interaction with faculty members dedicated to teaching excellence and providing personal attention to each student.
  • This hands-on approach, combined with small classes and exceptional instruction, has led our combined pass rates on the annual New York State Teacher Certification Examinations to consistently exceed 90%.

Canadian and U.S. students welcome!

  • Daemen’s Weekend Masters in Education Program is designed for busy professionals – it’s a great opportunity for people who have a college degree and would like to go back to school for their teaching certification.
  • The weekend format is designed for students who want to earn a Masters Degree in Education and become certified teachers while taking classes on Friday evenings and Saturdays.
  • To accommodate those with current professional obligations, courses for this program are offered on Daemen College campus throughout the year, including summers, on Friday evenings and Saturdays during the day.
  • Students move through the program in cohorts and complete the courses in one calendar year, followed by 15 weeks of student teaching. The next cohort begins in January, 2011.
  • After meeting all requirements, students are eligible for teaching certification in New York State.
