Message from the Dean
Daemen College has a long history of educating students in the Health and Human Service fields. As the demand for professionals grows, educators cannot neglect the importance of our graduates possessing the communication skills, literacy, and world view that will ultimately enhance their delivery of services.
The Daemen core curriculum provides the liberal arts and sciences foundation that will differentiate the Daemen graduate from those who undertake professional programs at other institutions. As we work and interact in a global society, the professional who has a better understanding of the local, national, and international communities will be distinguished and respected. As Dean of this division, I will be working with Dr. Kevin Telford, Dean of Arts and Sciences, on interdisciplinary efforts that will strengthen our graduates and the College as a whole.
Throughout your time here, you will be challenged to develop the creativity and sensitivity necessary to sustain growth in a career in health and human service. We are here to enhance your development both as a professional and as a contributor to society. As a student, you will be able to witness and apply the relevance of what is taught in the classroom through a number of off-campus experiences here, and potentially abroad.
I encourage you to stop in, ask questions, and get to know me and all the faculty and staff of the Division of Health and Human Services. Our dedicated faculty, low faculty-to-student ratios, and a mission focused on teaching, scholarship, and service combine to allow Daemen College to be an institution that you will be proud of. Welcome.
