Social Work

What Makes It Great

Daemen’s social work major will prepare you to work in a variety of fields that help shape and serve our national and international communities. You will gain professional grounding in the knowledge of social work, diversity, social and economic justice, human behavior in the social environment, research, and public policy.

Small classes sizes (15:1 student/teacher ratio) help facilitate enhanced interaction with faculty members dedicated to teaching excellence and providing personal attention to each student.

The program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education which means graduates may earn a master’s degree in social work at a graduate school in one year through an advanced standing program.

Extra Opportunities

Participate in a clinical internship in your senior year, interning two days a week under the professional supervision of a BSW or MSW social worker.

Join the Social Work Alliance, a student club that combines socialization and community advocacy

There are many innovative service initiatives available for student participation throught the social work program.
