Master of Science in Executive Leadership and Change
Change is difficult, threatening, and demanding. It is never easy. But it is always an opportunity.	The Executive Leadership and Change program at Daemen College prepares leaders to meet the challenge of change in an increasingly complex, global society. Effective leaders empower rather than control, foster creativity, and embrace diversity to promote collaboration and community building in the pursuit of shared goals. These essential skills, including innovative thought, critical analysis, and transformational leadership, can be implemented within a variety of organizational settings. Interdisciplinary curriculum emphasizing the internalization, integration, and application of self-awareness, team building, effective communication, systems thinking, and problem solving for change; Highly-regarded faculty led by the Executive Director, John S. Frederick, Ed.D; The Program is delivered in two formats that are at the convenient suburban campus in Amherst, New York: A weeknight format which would typically meet on Friday evenings and half-days on Saturdays. Or if weekdays are more flexible, there is a Tuesday evening format that meets once a week. The program is designed to be thirty-six credit hours. Completion of a student's degree varies upon the program format: The weeknight format is completed in only sixteen months. The weekday format is completed in only twenty-four months. All students in the program are eligible for federal student loans and some employers may have tuition reimbursement plans. The cost of tuition each year varies. Students customize their projects and special topic courses to concentrate in Executive Leadership and Change in one of three areas; business, health professions, or not-for-profit organizations. Projects are designed as hands-on laboratories for testing ideas and applying leadership skills. Students work closely with faculty and are encouraged to work in teams. Specialized program planning is also available. To maximize learning, the program stresses an experiential, interactive format using case studies and distinguished guest lecturers. These models are supplemented through the use of multi-media technology, distance learning, and off-site visits. To facilitate the technology component of the curriculum, each student is provided with their own laptop computer.
