Curriculum Objectives
• Gain basic knowledge and skills to make mathematical contributions to
society in the form of pure mathematics or mathematics applied to the other
disciplines.
• Apply abstract mathematical concepts to various fields, and increase their
mathematical intuition.
• Enhance critical thinking in situations involving judgments based on data and
stimulate independent thinking that requires research.
• Prepare students for graduate school and careers in the applied mathematics
field and education.
• Communicate mathematical ideas effectively.
• Recognize the importance of the field of mathematics on the scientific
development of several civilizations and cultures.

• In Daemen’s close and collaborative math classes—ranging from five to 25
students per class—you’ll learn about today’s most relevant areas of mathematical
science, including computer science, applied modeling, and statistics.
