NOTE: To be eligible for student teaching, students must
have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.55, a minimum GPA of 2.55 in
all courses in the major, and be recommended for student teaching by the
chairpersons of both the major and the Education Department.
Admission Requirements:
Secondary school mathematics through Trigonometry (NYS Math
11) recommended.
Admission to Upper Division:
1. An overall
grade point average of 2.00 or better for all completed college courses.
2. A grade
point average of 2.55 or better in mathematics courses.
3. A grade of
"C" or better in MTH 124, 134, 144, 145, 246, 264, and CSC 201.
4. Must compile
and submit a portfolio for review by the department during spring semester of the sophomore year.
Minors:
Mathematics:
MTH 144-145, 246, 254, 264.
Computer Science:
CSC 201, 212; and an additional nine
credit hours in computer science courses at the 200-level or above.
Pertinent Additional Information:
All students taking Mathematics courses must take the
quantitative skills placement tests. Scores for admission to various courses
are determined by the Mathematics faculty.
