What Makes It Great

develop your interests.

All students have opportunities for internships in many different human
service agencies and other settings. Our research sequence teaches many
widely useful skills through hands-on projects.
Key Features

Exposure to a wide variety of content areas including forensic psychology,
neuropsychology, developmental psychology, health psychology, human
sexuality, and cognitive psychology.

Flexibility in allowing students to choose elective courses in psychology and
minor fields of study that meet their personal interests and professional goals.

Skill sets that are designed to make students marketable in a variety of
professional fields both within and beyond the field of psychology, including
careers in the human services professions, research professions, and
opportunities in the business world.

Opportunities to gain hands-on, applied experience by completing field
placements outside of the classroom at various community agencies, and by
completing research projects on an assistantship basis with faculty in the
department who are conducting innovative research projects.

Preparation for admission into competitive graduate school programs in a
variety of disciplines both within the field of psychology (e.g., clinical,
cognitive, health, forensic, neuroscience, and developmental psychology) and
beyond (e.g., law school, medical school, business school, journalism and
communications degrees).
•
Opportunities to take courses in a variety of areas of psychology that have
become a prominent focus in the field in recent years, and are interdisciplinary
in nature, such as forensic psychology, health psychology, and neuropsychology.
