What is DURF?
An opportunity for students to work closely with a professor in their major on an academic project.
What is the amount of the grant?
It is a $500 award given out in two equal $250 payments as part of the financial aid award package.
Is the grant renewable?
This grant is available specifically for first-year students on a one time only basis. For additional funding for more advanced projects, visit the funding opportunities page.
What type of research will I be doing?
This will be decided by you and your faculty advisor.
What will I have to do for this research?
You will work with your advisor to identify a topic, develop a research proposal and at the end of the spring semester you will produce a two-page summary of the project findings.
Will I have to give a presentation?
You will have the opportunity to present your project at the Academic Festival held every April on campus.
