Social Work Happenings
- Adopt A Family - every Christmas, the SWA receives a local
family's wish list and SWA members use their own money to purchase gifts off
of the list for the family members
- Penny Harvest - in March, the SWA puts containers around
campus and at local agencies and businesses to collect pennies which are given
to a local social work-related agency. The agency receives the money at the
department's annual Humanitarian Award Banquet
- Nites Out - bowling, pizza parties, dinner and a movie,
Christmas party, etc.
- Lobbying for ASL (American Sign Language) - to be accepted
as a language requirement at Daemen
- Work Month" - guest speakers and social events are planned
during this month in conjunction with the department
