What Makes It Great
• As a Daemen art major, you’ll work toward your senior project: an individual
exhibition in your area of specialization that is critiqued by professors and
peers—just like in the working art world.
• Art Education majors, on the other hand, work within real classrooms
during a student-teaching requirement during the senior year.

Daemen is the only school in the area where you can major in illustration.
Degree Options
•
The Bachelor of Fine Arts is offered to students interested in becoming
professional artists. Specializations in Painting, Sculpture, Drawing/Illustration,
or Printmaking prepare you for professional studio work or for acceptance
into graduate programs.

The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design integrates a solid
foundation in fine art skills with the practical, technical, and conceptual skills
required for your success in business and industry.
•
The Bachelor of Science in Art Education is based on the philosophy
that competent art teachers are also practicing artists. Upon successful
completion of degree requirements,you will receive provisional New York
State certification to teach at the childhood and adolescent level.
Extra Opportunities
•
Juried Undergraduate Exhibition each Spring, exhibit your work at the
Undergraduate Art Show in a newly renovated gallery each February,
with Senior Exhibits in April and May.
•
Participate in off-campus projects that look great on a resume, like a recent
class project to paint a mural at the courthouse and the Pepsi Center, both
in Amherst.
•
Join the Drama Club, the Art Club, Figure Drawing Club, or Anime Club.
•
Internship possibilities with local design firms.
•
Visual Arts Scholarships available.
