Advising
At Daemen, we understand that good advising can mean everything!
All students are assigned advisors who are available during registration
periods and throughout the academic year to assist students within
specific academic divisions. Plus, our trained Academic Support
Services provide guidance on academic, personal, and social matters.
They monitor our students’ academic progress, assist with
their personal needs, maintain close contact with the faculty, and
provide special counseling to students on academic probation.
Internship & Career Placement Services
Building a quality resume while in college can be a just the ticket
you need to land a great job when you graduate. Our Career Development
Center provides a wide variety of services specially geared to the
vocational and self-development needs of the Daemen College community
and they work hard to find quality internship and job placements
for our students. Whether you need assistance figuring out what
kind of career you’d best be suited for, or where to find
the perfect internship, our Career Services staff will help you
along the way.
The Learning Center
Get tips about how to study effectively and get the most out of
your college career and learn how to be the best student you can
be! The Learning Center at Daemen College is a quiet and peaceful
environment that provides a variety of resources and tutoring for
students in all majors. ALL students are welcome and encouraged
to take advantage of the Center's free services.
Academic Coaching
We know everyone has the potential to be an outstanding student,
and we want to help our students achieve their fullest potential
in the classroom! That’s why Daemen offers a variety of academic
coaching services including individual coaching, group sessions,
and supplemental instruction for all of our students. Coaches are
available for almost every course on campus and they offer outstanding
assistance in writing, study techniques, learning styles, and learning
strategies. Workshops in study skills, time management and test-taking
are also presented during the semester. Plus OWL, our On-line Writing
Lab provides students the opportunity to submit their writing electronically
and receive feedback anytime and anywhere.
Enrichment Studies
Need a little refresher in reading, math or writing? Enrichment
courses and/or academic coaching in reading, writing and mathematics
are offered so that students can develop the literacy and numeric
skills required by the academic community. A Reading and Writing
Lab located in The Learning Center has a variety of materials available
for students to practice specific reading and writing skills.
Special Needs
Personalized learning strategies and supplemental services are arranged
for all Daemen students with special needs through our Learning
Center Coordinator.
