Juan - Business Administration

Business Administration - Sports Marketing

Why did you choose your present major?

I have always been involved in sports, especially soccer. I also have a great liking for business. There are many options with this major; I will be able to combine my interest in soccer and business whether in becoming an agent, coach, or manager.

Please describe your academic experience at Daemen College.

Through my first year at Daemen College, I can honestly say the academics are challenging. The professors know how to challenge each student, while also being there whenever we need help. Even though the material in each class is hard, I will be prepared for my field once I graduate.

Please describe the impact Daemen faculty, staff and advisors have had on you.

All of the professors care about every student. Since Daemen is a small college, they are sure to remember each student’s name, which is not very common in other universities or colleges. Also, whenever you need to meet with the faculty, they always make time and respond very fast.

What do you like best about Daemen College?

I like that Daemen College is a small school. It’s great having academic relationships with teachers, advisors, coaches, and more.

What clubs or organizations have you been a part of here at Daemen College?

I have been involved with the Sports Management Club and the Marketing Club.

Why did you choose to transfer to Daemen College?

The first reason I chose to come to Daemen was for their soccer team. I received a scholarship to play and I knew that Daemen was a prestigious academic private school.

What was your first step in beginning the transfer process once you chose Daemen?

I had to first complete the number of required credits from my previous school, Genesee Community College.

Was the transfer admissions counselor helpful in your transfer process? If so, please explain how.

My transfer counselor was very helpful. He was consistent with me. He was always there when I had questions, and was always on top of what I needed to complete. Still to this day, he makes sure that I am doing well and on track.

How far in advance were you working with the transfer admissions counselor prior to starting at Daemen?

My transfer admissions counselor started working with me after my last semester at Genesee Community College. He worked with me through the summer and during my first semester at Daemen College in the fall.

How did you feel about the amount of credits that transferred to Daemen?

Even though Daemen is a private school, they accepted most of my GCC courses which allowed me to stay on track.

What advice would you give to any students looking to transfer?

Don’t be afraid to call and contact the counselors at the school.  At Daemen, the counselors and advisors are extremely helpful and what to make your transfer as successful as possible.
