1: Why did you choose Daemen?

A couple of reasons made me choose Daemen College. The first would be that Daemen was conveniently located less than 20 minutes from my house. This was important to me because I knew I wanted to commute. Second, the campus was smaller and more personal – I felt a sense of comfort and ease when initially visiting there. Third, I realized how friendly the students, staff, and faculty were during a tour. Everyone I met seemed to truly love Daemen, and reference it with the highest regards. Let me say that Daemen has lived up to my expectations exceptionally.

2: What activities are you involved in on campus?

I am currently the Vice President of SHRM, the Society for Human Resource Managers. This is one of the four Business clubs Daemen has to offer.  SHRM has given me the opportunity to further explore my major, and give me the chance to network with people in the community. In addition, I am the treasurer of Sigma Omega Chi Sorority at Daemen. I have held multiple positions, my current one being treasurer. The sorority has given me the chance to meet and bond with new people, and become part of an amazing sisterhood. I also have two jobs at Daemen, one at a Learning Center Academic writing coach, and the other as a tour guide for the Admissions office. I simply love being involved with everything Daemen!

3: What advice would you give to a prospective student?

With talking to a prospective student, I would want them to know about the opportunities Daemen has to offer. I would advise them to not only think of college as just getting a degree – but to get involved with campus life. Being in clubs and attending campus activities would give them a chance to grow as an individual while expanding future opportunities they may not even know about yet.

4. Who inspires you the most:

Being an only child, I would say my parents have always inspired me the most. They have shown /taught me perseverance, compassion, and wisdom. They have taught me some of the most important lessons in my life, guided me though my hardest decisions, and have been my rock for me to lean on.  I could truly never thank them enough for it!

In Daemen, I took ESL classes to improve my English. I worked at Canavan Desk and made a lot of friends over there. I participated in a Business dinner with my professors. I was invited to join a family party by my professors. During the weekends, I often take the school shuttle to the shopping mall. These experiences helped me to ease into the American-style of study, life, and business.
