Daemen opened the season with a 68-51 win over Ryerson University from Toronto. Ryerson jumped out to a 9-2 lead to start the game but Daemen came right back with a 15-0 run to take a 17-9 lead. The Wildcats led 37-22 at the half. Daemen led by 13 or more the rest of the way and took their biggest lead of 27 points (60-33) with 10:55 left to play.

Daemen had three players in double figures - Jorge Ebanks (14), DJ Johnson (13), and Devon Dawson (11). Travis Craig led in assists (4) and in steals (4) along with Ebanks and Ajay Rutledge. Jim Reagn led in rebounds with six. Ryerson was led by Joey Imbrogno (18 points) and Ryan McNeilly (16 points).

Daemen shot 38.5% (25-65) from the field, 43.8% (7-16) from the line, and 37.9% (11-29) from three-point range. They had 20 steals and forced 36 Ryerson turnovers.

The Wildcats next play an exhibition game at NCAA I University of Buffalo on Saturday, November 7th at 7:00pm.
