Susan E. Kerner Named Assistant Director of Residence Life At Daemen College
Daemen College has named Susan E. Kerner assistant director of residence life. Kerner was most recently residence manager for Americorps in Denver Colorado. She holds a master of science degree in community counseling from Gannon University, and a bachelor of science in business administration from Robert Morris College.

The assistant director of residence life is a full-time professional staff member of the Daemen College Office of Residence Life. Reporting directly to the director of residence life, Kerner will be responsible for the residence hall assignments of approximately 600 students in 8 residence halls at Daemen.

Additional responsibilities will include coordinating “room change week” and the “residence hall lottery;” maintaining records regarding retention and attrition; conducting periodic needs assessments to determine resident student perceptions and needs; assisting in the development and implementation of policies regarding residence halls and room assignments. Also, assisting in the development and coordination of the residence hall marketing plan; coordinating the residence hall assignments for students over breaks, summer school, orientation, Summer Express, and other programs; coordinating and implementing the recruitment, selection, training, and advising of the student judicial board; and serving as part of the appeal process for the judicial board and university discipline cases.

Kerner began her new position in early February.
