Adriane WilliamsDaemen Senior Academic Advisor Adriane Williams has been recognized by On Point for College, Inc., for outstanding service to first generation college students. On Point for College is a non-profit organization dedicated to opening the door to higher education for low-income and first generation college students.

Funded through private donations and grants, On Point for College seeks to assist inner city youth, to break down the barriers that hinder potential students from entering college.

“Daemen College places the highest priority on assisting low-income and first-generation  students seeking a college education,” said Daemen President Gary A. Olson.

“We are very proud of Adriane Williams and the dedication she has shown to providing the support that empowers students to succeed.”

“Adriane Williams has been recognized as a ‘Campus Angel’ for manifesting great compassion and service to low-income and first generation college students,” the organization said in a statement. “You have served as a consistent and dedicated liaison to our counseling staff, helping us to resolve issues that impede the success of our students.”

On Point Deputy Executive Director Sam Rowser said, “Adriane is instrumental at removing barriers that inner-city and low-income students often face in their attempts to pursue a college education. She always lends extra effort to help work out the challenges our students face.”

Williams received the On Point for College Campus Angel Award at the organization’s 2013 Celebration, April 19, at the OnCenter, 800 State Street, Syracuse, NY.
