Cordaro Named Security Director at Daemen

AMHERST, N.Y. -- John Cordaro, who has more than 25 years of experience in security, education and as a small business owner, has been appointed director of security at Daemen College.
As chief administrator of campus security, Cordaro will be responsible for the management and operation of the college’s security and safety operations, oversee department officers and training, and assist the Daemen Office of Student Affairs with reporting requirements for Clery Act compliance.
“We are pleased to welcome John to the Daemen community and look forward to his leadership in keeping the campus a safe and secure environment in which to learn, work and live,” said Robert Beiswanger, vice president of business affairs.
Cordaro has been with U.S. Security Associates, which provides security services to the Daemen campus, since 2013, where he most recently served as deputy director of special events. Prior to this, he was manager of human resources and oversaw security and computer network operations at Kuehne and Nagel Logistics. He’s also previously owned two small businesses and served in various managerial and marketing capacities.
In addition to being a certified OSHA instructor, Cordaro earned a Six Sigma International Certificate and is certified as a work-based learning coordinator. He has taught computer science and business courses at State University of New York institutions throughout Western New York and at Niagara University.
Active in the community, Cordaro serves on the advisory board of the Orchard Park High School Academy of Finance and as advisor for the University at Buffalo Alpha Kappa Psi, Beta Iota Chapter, and is a member of the Wheatfield Toastmasters Club.
Cordaro holds a master’s degree in career and technical education from SUNY Buffalo State and a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Niagara University.
He resides in North Tonawanda.
