Daemen College has announced an Honors Accelerated Accounting Program. The program will be offered in two tracks. A dual Bachelor of Science in Accounting/Master of Science Professional Accountancy (150 hour program) is designed for the student who wishes to complete a B.S. Accounting/M.S. Professional Accountancy in an accelerated format.  The program allows the student to complete their bachelors and masters degree in a four year period and meets all the educational requirements that will allow the student to sit for the New York State Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam.  It is registered with the NYS Board of Public Accountancy.

The advantages of the program (first track) are:

Allowing the student to enter the professional workforce one year earlier than traditional programs.

All courses the student may be required to take during the summer or inter-semester are offered in an online format – including the summer the student begins the graduate portion of the program.

Accelerated format will save tuition (and room and board).

The student will build their resume as they progress through the program. Three built-in requirements allow them to do this include: three different internship activities  (9 credit hours); Volunteer Income Tax Program (IND213) (3 credit hours); The Accounting Department Consulting Lab for Non Profit Community Organizations (IND3000) (3 credit hours).

With proper planning, allows the student to participate in short-term or longer-term study abroad experiences.

It integrates the global economy through all course requirements.

The program promotes a close relationship between students and faculty and, through numerous professional development activities, aids the student in building a professional network before graduation.

Registered with the NYS Board of Accountancy, and accredited by the International Assembly of Collegiate Business Education (IACBE).

Undergraduate Scholarships continue into the graduate portion of the program.

All Daemen College Accounting faculty have worked for one of the Big 4 public accounting firms and have their CPAs.

Professional internships lead to full time positions for a majority of students and placement help is available.

Entrance requirements for the first track are: high school average of 93% or higher; a strong foundation in algebra; and a serious and dedicated outlook.

The second track of the Honors Accelerated Accounting Program is a Bachelor of Science in Accounting (120 hour program). This track is designed to allow completion of a B.S. Accounting in an accelerated format, allowing the student to complete their bachelor’s in a three year period.

The advantages of the program (second track) are:
