The first Daemen College Summer Institute will be held from July 5-17, 2012. This first Institute will have nine students from Saudi Arabia arriving on the evening of the 5th. The Saudi students will be staying in the Campus Village apartments.
During their stay the students will attend seminars on Global Health, and American Culture, consisting of short information sessions. The seminars on health care in the U.S. will focus on a range of topics, including how our system of care is constructed; how it differs from other countries’ models of care; and how it is changing. The students’ information sessions on American Culture will include popular culture as well as American art. The students will have an opportunity to visit the Albright-Knox Art Gallery and attend a variety of cultural events.
In addition, the students will visit Niagara Falls, the Botanical Gardens, and other culturally significant sights in Buffalo and the surrounding area. This is an exciting program that we hope will continue every summer.
If you see our Summer Institute students walking around please feel free to stop, say hello, and welcome them to Daemen College.
