Daemen College has been awarded $271,834 from the New York State Education Department for its Teacher/Leader Quality Partnership. This is the tenth year Daemen College has been awarded funds for this program, for a total of over $1.7 million since 1999.  Daemen is one of twenty-four higher education institutions in New York State to receive this competitive award, which is for the period 2009-2012.

New York State's Teacher/Leader Quality Partnerships (TLQP) program aims at improving the academic success of New York's students by improving the quality of their teachers. The Education and the Natural Sciences Departments at Daemen College, in partnership with the Buffalo Public Schools and the Catholic Diocese, collaborate to improve student achievement. The Teacher/Leadership Quality partnership at Daemen College provides professional development to administrators and teachers in Buffalo Schools with the intent of increasing student achievement in math and science.
